About Michael
With an eclectic background in philosophy, religious studies and anthropology, as well as a passion for writing poetry, Michael Battenberg constantly seeks to integrate the many dimensions of his experience into a synthetic whole, producing photographic works that at once evoke intellectual, emotional and visceral response.
Michael’s photography shows Intimate Nature & Celluloid Series have been exhibited at various locations around Toronto, including the Ben Navaee Gallery, the Beacher Café and in Sunderland Hall at the First Unitarian Congregation of Toronto. His poetry chapbook De Profundis, which includes photos from Intimate Nature, has recently been published by North Wind Press.
